In this week’s article, we will be learning to work with Angels and Archangels. I wanted to highlight some key Angels that can assist us with various needs we may have. The Angels and Archangels are always around us, watching, waiting for us to call out or even just chat and connect with them. They are happy to intervene and lend a helping hand *(within reason), all you have to do is ask!
ARCHANGELS IN HISTORY
Your first point of contact would usually be one of the Archangels. Each of these powerful beings has legions of other angels working with /underneath them to aid in their cause. The number of Archangels there are differs depending on your source. For example, The Catholic Church only recognizes the existence of three Archangels – Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, and Saint Raphael.
While others recognize at least seven which correspond with the days of the week as well as the 7 Chakras – Chamuel, Michael, Raphael, Uriel, Gabriel, Zadkiel and Jophiel. Then there are also those that recognize 12 to match the corresponding Zodiacs.
No matter the number, its important for you to resonate with the energy you are seeking help from or trying to connect with. If there are specific Angels you are immediately drawn to, definitely start with them and branch out if you feel the need or once you are more comfortable.
SPIRITUAL APPROPRIATION
Before we move forward, I’d like to stress- you do not have to be part of any religion to call on the Angels or any other presence for that matter. We are all energy just as they are, we just vibrate at a different frequency. So no matter your background beliefs or traditions, if you have a connection or you feel you are being sought out by a Deity, Angel, Guide, God, Goddess, or any other type of Celestial Being; my advice is to go with it! (unless of course, this is negative or uninvited.) Sometimes they find us whether we are interested or not. These beings will never turn away someone whose intentions are pure, no matter their religious history on this earthly realm. Religion is after all a man made concept.

THE SEVEN MAIN ARCHANGELS
Below I have outlined the seven Archangels we mentioned above, so that you can get a better understanding of them individually and start connecting with these higher energies. I have used references from various religious sources including those of; Catholicism, Judaism, Christianity for the purpose of this article.

MONDAY – ARCHANGEL CHAMUEL
Chamuel is the Archangel of strength, courage and war in Christian and Jewish Theology and Angelology. But these days he is more well known for realigning you with Divine love, peace, and joy. Invoke Archangel Chamuel’s pink rays to fill your home and raise the vibration. This is useful to stop fighting or get rid of chaotic energy around you and your loved ones.
He is also helpful in matters of the heart, finding love or inner healing and self love. His colour is Pink. Chakra’s he works with are the Heart and Sacral Chakras.
Chamuel likes to remind us to not live in judgement of ourselves or others and to spread love wherever we go.
Place his sigil in your home to promote these good vibes, or for use in your romance and self love spells to call these angels to you.
TUESDAY – ARCHANGEL MICHAEL
In Ancient texts, Michael is the Celestial Warrior and the protector of swordsmen and masters of arms. His skills as a judger of souls have also made him the Patron Saint of the Police / Firefighters and War Veterans. You can call on him in situations that require truth, integrity, strength, courage, and protection in harmful situations or for safe travel. His colour is Blue and he works with the Throat Chakra.
In magick, Michael is very useful in cord cutting, uncrossing and road opening work, protection, cleansing and banishing work as well as releasing our own fears and self-doubt. You can use his sigil below to amplify your connection to him or place it above your front door to protect your home.
WEDNESDAY – ARCHANGEL RAPHAEL
Raphael is the Archangel of science, knowledge and healing. His name derives from Hebrew meaning “God has healed”. He is also considered to be a protector of engaged couples and of conjugal love. Saint Raphael is accounted Patron of travellers, the blind, happy meetings, nurses, physicians, medical workers and matchmakers. He is the supreme healer in the Angelic Realm and his Chief role is to support, heal, and guide in matters involving health.
Call on him when you need help opening your Heart Chakra or when dealing with difficult emotions. His colour is Green. This beautiful Angel can also be called upon in matters involving not being able to meet your physical needs such as food, shelter etc.
Place his sigil in a room where someone is sick or in need of emotional healing to draw on Saint Raphael and his angels divine energy. Place in a nursery or use on your altar when trying to conceive.
THURSDAY – ARCHANGEL URIEL
Uriel is the Archangel of Wisdom, Illumination, intelligence and understanding. Whose name literally means “God is Light” or “Light of God”. In Jewish texts he is also know to be the bringer of thunder and earthquakes. When called upon, Uriel will provide you with inner peace and assistance with rage and anger build up as well as renewal of hope when we feel we have lost it... Uriel and his Angels of peace are Patron to those who work in service to others, such as nurses, doctors, hospice workers, counsellors, teachers, judges etc.
Archangel Uriel provides us with a direct link to the realm of Spirit. If you have been looking for a way to raise your personal vibration and become connected with higher energy, he is the one to ask. His colours are Gold and Purple which is often seen by us as a deep red hue. and he works with the Third Eye and Root Chakra’s.
FRIDAY – ARCHANGEL GABRIEL
In the biblical tradition, he was considered to be one of the Angels closest to the Throne of God, to the point of being referred to as The Left Hand of God. Gabriel is also presented as an Angel of Death in the Bible, while for the Muslims he is one of the Chief Messengers of God and the Angel who revealed the Koran to Muhammad. In the Christian tradition, Gabriel is particularly remembered as a messenger. Gabriel is also considered to be the protector of those who work in communications such as postmen, ambassadors, journalists and couriers.
It was Gabriel who appeared to Mary and told her that God had chosen her as the mother for His only Son, in this way he will also assist women who have fertility issues or are at risk for complicated childbirths.
Work with him when you need inspiration, divine messages, or to unblock your creativity. His colours are White or Yellow and he works with the Sacral Chakra.
SATURDAY – ARCHANGEL ZADKIEL
Zadkiel, which means “Righteousness of God,” is known by many as the Archangel of Mercy. He is also known as the Patron Angel of forgiveness. This Angel embodies God’s freedom, alchemy, transmutation, forgiveness and justice. The very same qualities embodied by Saint Germain who connects us with The Violet Flame. Their work corresponds to the Crown & Third Eye Chakra’s, and their colour is violet.
Zadkiel is also known for helping retain information for tests and exams as well as healing painful memories and remembering your own Divine spiritual origins.
Call on this mighty presence when you need direction in life, or help with forgiveness and releasing that which is weighing you down. He can also be called to remove obstacles such as in Road Opening work.
SUNDAY – ARCHANGEL JOPHIEL
Jophiel is the Angel of beauty and wisdom, whose name literally means ‘Beauty of God.’ She is also known by the names Lofiel and Sophiel in some traditions. Archangel Jophiel is the Patron of artists and creative endeavours. She is also known to heal negative emotions and chaotic situations.
In Judaism, Jophiel is described as an Angel of the seventh heaven, a Cabalistic guardian of the Torah (and wisdom itself), who taught 70 languages to souls at the dawn of creation. The Zohar lists her as a Great Angel Chief in charge of 53 legions who superintended Torah readings on the Sabbath.
Call on Archangel Jophiel in situations where you need creative inspiration. Her colour is Yellow and she works with the Solar Plexus Chakra which is where our passion and creativity stems. Being that she also aids in mental clarity, you can call on her to assist in opening your Crown Chakra too in order to be more receptive to her messages.
CONCLUSION
I hope this segment covered the basics of Angel work for you. There are of course many other angels out there so keep exploring and reaching out. Don’t be surprised to find upon doing more research that the little attributes such as the Chakras or crystals used for each Angel will differ. It’s really about the way you see and experience them. The only way to find out is to start!

WORKING WITH ANGELS FAQ
How Many Archangels are There?
This is a difficult question to answer as it depends on who you ask. According to certain religions such as Catholicism, there are only three recognized Archangels of the Church. In other faiths and belief systems, there are sometimes seven or more than thirteen.
What Can my Angels Help me With?
Your angels can assist you with so many things in your daily life. This would include protection and safety of yourself and loved ones, getting a good parking spot, healing someone in need, getting you out of a bind etc. There are specific angels for specific things. Do your research to see who deals with that and who resonates with your energy.
Why Didn’t my Angels Help When Asked?
Your angels can only do so much. They can only help if you ask, but they cannot always interfere if something is part of your soul plan or soul journey. They can also not assist in making anyone feel a certain way or providing any other unnecessary tasks that interfere with another’s free will or your grand plan. If you have asked for their help in a sincere way and it still never came about, consider that the outcome is what is best for you right now, or the timing may be off.
